I turned 28 today, wooohoooo!! 🙂
Best part about that? My AWOL 2012 NOBO guidebook arrived. Looking over my itinerary and have now planned through the start of Virginia. What a great way to spend my birthday.
Special thanks to the Good Badger and Eats for recommending the guidebook!
Been dehydrating more food for the trip, while I re-work my itinerary from the ground up. The trip is so close I can taste it!
As the snow has been falling up here in Massachusetts and I have been planning the first bit of my hike, I have started to wonder how cold I am going to be in the Southern Appalachians in March…..
That is why, I am so very excited to announce Alpine Zone’s first official sponsor:
Wiggy’s has a great selection of gear, and the best part, there is a lifetime guarantee! Check out the website here: Wiggy’s
We did it. The funds have been raised for Alpine Zone! I literally have been sitting refreshing the page every minute, making sure nothing changed. I am in shock AND so excited! Thank you to yesterday’s new backers:
I would also like to thank at this time all the backers that chose to receive no reward. You know who you are and you are amazing. It is so great to see so many people support the arts and in particular, this project. I am so thrilled to share my experience with you all!
Remember, just because the fundraising campaign is done, doesn’t mean I won’t be posting on this website. Much more will be added before I embark on my 2,000 mile trek and of course, I will be blogging during the trip. So be sure to sign up to receive updates and follow along. I seriously wouldn’t be doing this if it weren’t for you all. So, thank you, so very much! 🙂
Food is an important part of planning for any thru-hike. My advice for making the tastiest dried apples is to use Cortland Apples.
Thanks to yesterday’s new backers:

There are only 24 hours left to pledge. Please spread the word on the very last day and pledge now if you haven’t! Thanks so much to everyone, all your support is so amazing!
Thank you to yesterday’s new backers!
Only 47 hours left on Kickstarter to raise funds for the film. By Sunday morning at 8:14 AM the campaign will be closed! Thank you everyone for the support, keep spreading the word and/or pledge. I couldn’t be doing this without you! 🙂
